While the vast majority of Swiss luxury watchmakers have shunned smartwatches, TAG Heuer has wholeheartedly embraced the tech side of wristwear with its successful Connected smartwatch line. The brand’s Connected Calibre E4 has proven to be one of the market’s most functional and luxurious options, and now, it’s upping the ante with a gorgeous iteration that takes after the game-changing, all-electric Porsche Taycan.
Through its ongoing partnership with Porsche, TAG Heuer has shown off numerous sleek options, but none like this quite yet. The 45mm watch is housed in a titanium grade 2 sandblasted case, then rounded out with a flat sapphire crystal for durability and a polished ceramic bezel with “Frozen Blue” accents cribbed from the Taycan. Above all else, it features an exclusive watch face — Circuit — inspired by both racing circuits and the electric prowess that powers the Taycan and watch itself.
Design aside, another feature implemented into Google’s Wear OS for this collaboration is exclusive to Porsche owners, as they can potentially connect their watch to the car and see pedometer specs on the screen. Compatible models include the Macan, second-generation Panamera, and, of course, the Taycan. That said, the sleek accessory is bound to bode well whether you have a Porsche to connect to it or not.
This joint effort is genuinely a win-win situation. Fans of the Stuttgart-bred marque will adore this limited-edition smartwatch, and tech enthusiasts will learn to appreciate Porsche — in case they haven’t yet.
